Privacy policy
Last updated May 1, 2026
This policy explains what Meetday collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the control you have over your information. It takes effect on May 1, 2026.
1. Who we are
Meetday is a host-first IRL social network that connects experience creators (Hosts) with people seeking curated real-world experiences (Attendees). We operate at meetday.ai and through our web app and mobile app (to be released). Meetday is operated by Meetday Global, a company registered in India. For the purposes of data protection law, Meetday is the data controller of your personal information.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you create an account we collect your name, username, email address, phone number, profile photo and biography, city and location, and optionally your interests, profession, company, age range, languages, and social media links. When you become a Host we collect identity verification documents (such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, or other government-issued ID), bank or UPI details for payouts, PAN details for tax and GST compliance, and your experience listings, itineraries, pricing, and descriptions. When you attend an experience we collect ticket purchase information, payment details processed securely through Razorpay (we do not store your full card or UPI details), and QR check-in confirmations. When you join a community we collect your membership status, subscription information, and engagement signals. When you use the Vendor Marketplace we collect your service listings, portfolio, pricing, booking history, and reviews received.
Information we collect automatically. This includes usage data (the pages and features you interact with, experiences you browse, save, or attend, search queries, and time spent on the platform) and behavioural signals that build your IRL social graph (such as co-attendance patterns, repeat attendance with the same host, and community conversion signals). These signals improve discovery and are never shared with other users in identifiable form. We also collect device and technical data (IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, app version, and session identifiers) and city-level location for discovery and matching. We do not collect precise real-time GPS location without your explicit consent.
Information from third parties. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email, and profile photo. If you connect social profiles we receive the information you authorise. Payment processors such as Razorpay share transaction confirmation data with us.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Operate the platform: manage your account, enable discovery, booking and ticketing, process payments and host payouts, run QR check-in, and manage community memberships.
- Personalise your experience: match you with experiences that fit your interests and location, build and refine your real-world social graph, and improve recommendations based on your actual behaviour.
- Support Hosts: provide audience-intelligence dashboards using pseudonymous identifiers (see section 5), send re-engagement communications on a host's behalf, and generate performance and community-health analytics.
- Ensure trust and safety: verify identities, detect fraud and policy violations, and enable reporting, moderation, and dispute resolution.
- Communicate with you: send ticket confirmations, reminders, host announcements, transactional emails, and, with your consent, marketing you can opt out of at any time.
- Comply with the law: GST invoicing and tax compliance, responding to lawful government requests, and record-keeping required under applicable Indian law, including the DPDP Act 2023.
4. Legal basis for processing
Where India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023 and other regulations apply, we process your data on these bases:
- Consent, for optional data, marketing, and social connections.
- Contract, to fulfil our obligations to you.
- Legitimate interests, for fraud prevention, security, and improving our services.
- Legal obligation, for GST compliance, tax reporting, and lawful requests.
5. Privacy-preserving audience tools for Hosts
One of Meetday's core design principles is that Hosts can understand and reach their attendees but never see personal contact details. When you attend a host's experience, Meetday creates a host-scoped pseudonym for you, a unique token specific to that host relationship (for example, MD-HOST-4821). The host tracks behaviour over time without ever seeing your name, phone number, or email, and cannot correlate your identity across different hosts. When a host sends a message, Meetday delivers it to you directly; the host never receives your contact details.
You control host outreach with these settings:
- Open: any host whose experience you attended can send updates and invites.
- Community Only: only hosts whose community you have formally joined.
- Selective: you approve each host individually before they can contact you.
- Private: no host outreach at all.
You can change these at any time in your account preferences.
6. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not let advertisers pay to target you through Meetday. We share information:
- With Hosts, only as pseudonymous audience intelligence, never your contact details (see section 5).
- With Vendors, only the information needed to fulfil a service booking you make.
- With service providers: Razorpay (payments, payouts, KYC), AWS (cloud hosting), and Firebase (communications), all contractually bound to process data only on our instructions.
- For legal reasons, where required by law, court order, or lawful government request.
- In a business transfer, if Meetday is acquired, merged, or restructured, in which case we will notify you in advance.
7. Data retention
- Account data: for the life of the account plus 2 years after deletion.
- Transaction records: 7 years, for GST and tax compliance.
- Identity documents (including Aadhaar where collected): the minimum period required for verification under applicable UIDAI guidelines.
- Check-in and attendance records: 3 years.
- Communications: 2 years.
- Deleted content: removed within 30 days of a deletion request.
8. Data security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, pseudonymisation of attendee identities in host-facing tools, access controls that limit employee access on a need-to-know basis, regular security assessments, KYC verification for Hosts and Vendors, and Razorpay's PCI-DSS compliant payment infrastructure. Aadhaar data, where collected, is handled strictly per UIDAI regulations and is not stored beyond the verification period. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at info@meetday.ai.
9. Your rights
You can:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your account and personal data.
- Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent.
- Opt out of marketing at any time.

11. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in across sessions, remember your preferences, understand how the platform is used, and improve discovery and recommendations. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, and we do not sell cookie data.
12. Third-party links
Meetday may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.
